Iridium GO!™

The iridium Go initiates a real revolution in satellite communications. Whereas until now it was necessary to be equipped with a specific terminal, this small portable device makes it possible to communicate via the Iridium network from a simple smartphone or a tablet! Another revolution, it is the only Iridium consumer terminal that gives access to unlimited data plans!

 
Extremely well designed, compact, lightweight and protected against moisture and shock, it fits in the hand and comes with all the accessories you need for its use.

Like the Optimizer, the device creates a wifi hotspot to which you can connect your smartphone or tablet (up to 5 clients for data connections, only 1 for telephony). But unlike the Optimizer, it doesn't need a satellite phone because it contains everything you need to establish communication. Of course, you need a SIM card and a valid subscription to an Iridium communication service (see below).

 
The Iridium Go is used with two free applications available for iOS and Android:

- Iridium Go app (iOS - Android), very user-friendly, allows to send/receive phone calls and SMS. It also allows to configure all settings (authorized users, wifi network settings etc)

- Iridium AxcessPoint Mail & Web app (iOS - Android) allows you to create data links for sending/receiving e-mails, receiving Grib weather files, and limited surfing on the Internet.

It should be remembered that the rate of satellite data communications is very low (2.4kbit/s for Iridium), which in practice limits the use of data to sending not too heavy emails. The AxcessPoint Mail & Web application filters and speeds up this process in order to reduce communication costs.


The unit itself is a fully self-contained unit with rechargeable battery and built-in satellite antenna. This integrated antenna is largely sufficient if one places the apparatus outside, which is very easy since it is autonomous. It can be placed under the soft top for example. For indoor use, an additional separate antenna is available as an option (contact us)

 
The Iridium Go comes with a 100-240V mains charger (4 international sockets including France), a 12-24V cigar lighter charger and a USB cable to charge on any standard USB charger.


The Go also comes with a protective cover and can be attached to a photo pole by means of an insert on its back side.

The Go has an SOS function that can be activated either by a side button or from the smartphone via the Iridium Go application. Enabling this function triggers distress messages to be sent to a predefined number, or to the GEOS Travel Safety Group dedicated service. This service is accessible on free subscription (preconfigured in the app) and must be configured before leaving.

The device also has an integrated GPS (necessary for the SOS function) and offers the possibility of automatically sending your location to your loved ones.

With the Iridium Go, it is now possible to subscribe with unlimited data/SMS (which is not the case on other Iridium terminals). This makes it possible to start a download without worrying about the time spent, the device managing all alone the resumption of the download at the passage of a new satellite. We offer an unlimited data/SMS package including 150min of voice calls per month and without commitment of duration.
