The real "plus" of this very comprehensive application (GPS, statistics, speed, distance, calories...) is its "segment" section. It is possible to record a stretch of road, a climb for example, and compare your time with that of other users. Each recorded segment will thus have its "King of the Mountain" that you can try to dethrone! You can also challenge other runners by creating your own segment.
A subscription via in-app purchase is essential to obtain personalized training plans, real-time feedback, analyses, and detailed data. Premium subscription €7.99/month or €59.99/year.
Sports Tracker is a training coach and a social network. It is indeed possible to share your training sessions and photos with other users, and thus compare your performance with that of your friends.
You can also analyze your performance (speed, duration…) and track your progress. A Bluetooth heart rate monitor is also available as an option. A complete standalone app with maps and routes, compatible with the Apple Watch, allows you to automatically sync your workouts from your watch to the app, and vice versa.
Free - iOS/ Android (Pro version €29.99/year or €99.99 for lifetime)
ALLTrails Hiking Trails Map is a guide for all outdoor activities. With over 200,000 hiking trail maps and mountain biking routes, it caters to casual hikers, mountain bikers, and high-level trail runners. You can search, save routes, get GPS coordinates for trailheads, read community comments, view photos, etc.
The PRO version allows you to download maps for offline use, remove ads, and use Lifeline so your contacts can track your progress. Subscription €29.99/1 year, €59.99/3 years, €99.99 for lifetime.
Free - Android UPDATE on 27/01/22: this application seems to have disappeared from the Playstore
SportyPal is a very advanced training tool. You can set your goals for distance, duration, or calories to burn. The percentage of achievement of these goals will then appear at the top of your screen. It is also possible to prepare a program over time with goals to reach, for example, to cover 100 km in a month. This time-based goal will be updated as soon as an outing is completed. An option is also available to monitor your heart rate and alert you in case of a concerning level.
