Overview
The NeXuX Connect is a compact, easy-to-install Wifi router, ideal for boats looking for a reliable, affordable Internet connection.
Its external antenna provides 4G Internet access up to 12-15 nautical miles from shore. Its optimized WAN port also facilitates integration with Wifi amplifiers or Starlink, enabling it to serve as the main router for all on-board communications.
In 4G, NeXuX Connect offers fast Internet access on board thanks to its compact antenna with MIMO technology and two 7m cables. This provides connectivity of up to 300 MB (depending on the network).
It features dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) and three Ethernet ports (10/100 Mb/s) for wired devices. It also includes two SIM card readers (with automatic switching if required), and integrated GPS for boat tracking and anchor alarm.
Installation and connections
NeXuX Connect is installed in a dry place inside the boat. You'll need to connect the rear panel:
- Themain 4G antenna, which consists of 2 coupled antennas (MIMO technology) placed in the same dome. This should be placed outside, and connected by 2 x 7m cables. This small dome (diameter 9cm) can be mounted either on a bulkhead, on a 42mm tube, or on a standard Glomex-type antenna support (1 "x14). Adapters supplied
- A small adhesive GPS antenna with a 3m cable, to be installed in an area offering good reception (supplied)
- 2 small wifi antennas for indoor wifi signal (supplied)
Network connections
The NeXuX Connect front panel features :
- 2 SIM card slots, for connection to 2 different operators, with automatic switchover from one to the other depending on reception quality
- 3 LAN slots for connecting 3 wired devices (computers) that can benefit from Internet access
- 1 WAN slot for connection to a Wifi hotspot amplifier (such as our Wifi kit) or to the Starlink system
- various LEDs to check operation or signal quality.
Configuration
NeXuX Connect's basic configuration is simple: simply insert one or two SIM cards into the slots provided, compatible with different operators. The device automatically detects remote connection parameters thanks to its internal database.
Settings can be easily made via its web interface, i.e. from a smartphone, tablet or computer connected to the NeXuX wifi network.
To secure your connection, we recommend that you customize the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and set a password. This step ensures safe use of the network on board.
